TAKING YOUR STORY ON THE ROAD

Living in an interconnected world

We live in an increasingly interconnected world.  If you want to study, or work, in another culture you need to know if your story translates.  What do we mean by that?  Are you interesting?  Are you thought-provoking?  Are you someone that others want to know?  There is only one way to find out.  Explore.  Dive in!  Get out there and tell your story.  Listen to the stories of the people you meet.  Perfect your narrative.

How Your Story Can Impact Your World

Men Volunteering

Connecting, coaching and caring have been at the heart of our global vocational mission deployment since the 18.26 Network was founded in 2017.  Not only do we connect, coach and care for our members, we want our members, in turn, to have a ministry of connecting, coaching and caring for their colleagues and their neighbors.

Narratives For Life is an entry portal for global vocational mission.  It's putting your toe in the pool to see if it's warm enough to swim.  As you learn to tell your story in cross-cultural contexts, as you listen to the stories of those you meet in cross-cultural contexts, you can discern if global, vocational mission is something God is calling you to do.

The best way to learn to tell your story? We know that action speaks louder than words. And as you actively help others  you earn the right to tell your story.  Slowly, of course.  Not with force or coercion.  But as you engage, as you serve, as you listen to those you serve, they will want to know who you are and what makes you tick.

And the best part -- not only are you learning to tell your story -- you are making friends.  Sometimes life-long friends.  Putting your toe in the pool to see if it is warm is one way to explore cross-cultural vocational mission.  Another way is to join people in the pool -- even if its only in the shallow end at first.  Get wet!  Get involved!  Get going!
